Salary $15/hr
Schedule: Paid Training: Late-June prior to start date
Programming Begins: June 30, 2025 – August 15, 2025 (2 ½ hrs per day)
Background
The Providence Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) provides free, nutritious meals to all Providence youth ages 18 and under when school is not in session. Healthy food access during the summer is critical to a child's physical and social development. The SFSP is designed to fill the summer nutrition gap and make sure children get the nutritious meals they need to play during the summer and return to school ready to learn.
Job Description
The SFSP Site Supervisor will work under the supervision of the administrators of the SFSP and will be responsible for serving meals to children in a neighborhood park in Providence.
The Site Supervisor must accurately document the meals served at their location daily. Site Supervisors must follow regulations established by the USDA and State regulators. The administrative staff will be available for support by phone. Training will be provided.
The location of service will be determined after staffing needs are filled. We will try to place staff in Parks closest to their homes, but locations are not guaranteed.
Site Supervisors’ duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Arrive at location on time to receive meals from food vendor
- Serve meals to children in designated park
- Accurately record the meals served on the meal count forms provided by SFSP administration
- Make sure summer meals trash is being picked up and park is staying clean
- Communicate any issues you may experience with SFSP administration so corrective action can be taken immediately
Additional Information
- Mandatory training will be provided
- Preference given to Providence residents
Note:
All applicants 18 and older, will be required to complete a form for a background check, run by the Providence Police
All applicants UNDER 18, will be required to complete an “Intent to Work” form, to be signed by legal parent/guardian
